The CCM Super Tacks AS1 Skates build upon the stellar success of the original one-piece Super Tacks boot and look to take performance, fit, durability and comfort to the next-level. While the AS1 still uses their premier carbon composite and MonoFrame 360 One-Piece Technology, CCM improved the responsiveness and durability with a new carbon layering pattern, a slightly taller boot height, double-stitched eyelets and re-designed toe cap vamping.
To counteract the extra weight put on by these changes; CCM shed unnecessary visual aesthetics. Unlike the first generation; the AS1's will have a printed CCM logo on the side instead of a 3D gem, they removed excess material in the bottom 5 eyelets and it features a lower-profile exhaust vent. Internally, the Super Tacks AS1's boast the TotalDri Pro Dual-Zone Liner with DuaZone Abrasion-Resistance Pads. This tacky grip liner helps to secure the foot inside the boot even in sweaty conditions and the DuraZone Pads were strategically placed to help prevent premature liner breakdown typically caused by shin guards.
Also changing this year is the TriTech Flex tongue that offers better forward flex than before. CCM accomplished this by replacing the injected plastic with high-density foams that also remove weight but won't sacrifice protection or comfort. The Super Tacks AS1 skates showcase a new custom support insole that allows players to tailor their footbeds to their specific arch type. Each footbed can be used without an insert for low arches, with the mid-insert for medium arches or the tall-insert for those with tall arches. The rigid PowerGrid base provides extra stiffness in the heel, which maximizes energy transfer and provides better stability.
