The CCM Tacks 9090 Skates boast pro-level boot, tongue, midsole and outsole materials that utilize a traditional two-piece quarter package construction. The 9090 skates showcase a full RocketFrame composite boot with a SpeedCore III technology that is incredibly lightweight, responsive and protective.
Unlike the competition, the CCM Tacks 9090's boast a full vented composite midsole and outsole that work to reduce weight, increase energy transfer, manage moisture and enhance the skate-to-ice feel. Internally, the TotalDri Liner helps to push sweat to the bottom of the boot so that it may exit through the exhaust vents. The DuraZone abrasion patches work help to further reinforce the liner for premium abrasion resistance.
The 9090 skate debuts the new TriTech Flex tongue that is also found on the top-of-the-line AS1 skate. CCM went with a more flexible design that promotes better forward flex, all without sacrificing protection or comfort. The updated Smooth Contour Pads help to alleviate high-ankle abrasion that is commonly caused by frequent skating in stiff boots like this.
The runners have also been upgraded with the SB Black with an exclusive black oxide coating. Aside from the visual appeal, this coating prevents corrosion and maintains a longer lasting edge life.
